New Years and the Ball That Never Fell

Hello! its Patrick again! I'm here to tell you the story of the Ball That Never Fell. But before I start this story, let me explain something about our television. We recently ordered Direct T.V. Direct T.V. comes with a cool little feature (I think it's stupid) that allows us to set viewing hours. This means that our parents can now literally control when we watch T.V. It also means that I can't get up in the middle of the night and watch T.V. The viewing hours on our T.V. are six a.m. to midnight. Now that I've gotten that cleared up, I can begin the story. It was New Years Eve and we had everything planned out perfectly. We invited two families to join us at our house to celebrate: The Bradhams, and the Cannons. Mom made enchiladas, and dad sat and watched the football game and drank beer with Dave Bradham. You know what? I'm going to skip all this boring stuff and get right to the exciting part. It was five minutes before the ball was supposed to drop, but we were busy getting ready to watch some crazy guy jump a football on his motorcycle. About two minutes before midnight, we switched over to the channel where the ball would be dropped. We sat and waited for what seemed to be hours but finally the countdown began. Ten! nine! eight! seven! six! five! four! three! And then all of a sudden the T.V. went off and up popped a little blue screen that said: We're sorry, you are outside the viewing hours, please enter the password to unlock four hours. We all started screaming  and yelling at my dad to put the password word but his fingers were fumbling everywhere and he couldn't get the numbers right. When he finally got the password right the ball was gone and everyone in New York had gone home.
