Dickens Festival

Spartanburg has a wonderful tradition.  They kick off the Holiday season with a Dickens Festival in Downtown Spartanburg.  People dress up in Dickens era costumes, and there are singers, dancers, a parade and of course Santa.

One of the groups who performed was the Roebuck Elementary Music Vision Students and the Honors Choir of which Mitchell is a member.  Here is Mitchell prior to the concert and no, we did not cut his hair, it is in a pony tail.

Here is Mitchell with his best friend Skyler.

The children sang and acted out a short skit of the Christmas Carol. At the last minute, one of the children who had some lines did not show up and Mitchell was given his part.  He had about 5 minutes to learn 3 lines.  When he got up to say his lines we thought he would take the script with him.  He did not take it and said the lines like he had be studying them for weeks.  We were very proud.

It was a very fun night.  This was the first of three concerts for Mitchell this week.  More on those to come.
