Why the birds don't like our bird feeder

As a house warming gift, Charlie's daughter Megan and her darling family gave us a cool bird feeder that hooks onto your window so you can see the birds as they feed.  We tried different windows and yet the birds were not feeding.  Finally, one early morning we discovered why. Below is what we found when arriving in the kitchen..

For those of you not familiar with our family, that big fat furry thing sitting on one of my tall kitchen chairs is Baci, (Italian for kisses) our cat.  Baci is never allowed outside and yet she seems to know that she is meant to play with or perhaps eat those flying things that keep trying to eat at the little house on the window.

The birds actually land on the little house and as soon as they see Baci, they fly away.  Baci does not even have to move, not something she can do with ease given her size.

Now, every morning, I move the chairs in under the table so she cannot fit and thankfully I have been seeing blue jays, red cardinals, and other beautiful birds that only my brilliant grandsons could name.
