I WON!!!!

While shopping in a local scrapbooking store in Greenville in early September, I learned that the store conducts a contest every month. You pay $2 and recieve two sheets of 12x12 patterned paper or one patterned and one cardstock, a small 4x12 cardstock6 and a few embellishments. The kit for September included a small button, all of which were different. My button said &7. You must use everything in the kit and cannot add anything. You can stamp, use the computer, pen, marker or die cuts.

I have never entered a contest or submitted a page to a magazine. I thought this would be a great way to get my mojo back since the move. What to do with the &7 button was the tough part. I had the whole family thinking about it but it was Vinny who came up with the winning idea. She suggested I scrap a photo of me at 7 and one of her at 7. I could not find a photo of me at 7, it is still in a box somewhere and none of the photos of Vinny at 7 were very clear. So, I used a photo of me at 5 and took a photo of Vinny attempting to look like my photo. The journaling reads...

Can you believe how much we looked alike when we were both 7? Do you know that when I was 7 I was already dreaming of you? I was, honest. I cannot believe how lucky I am that my dream came true. Now we scrapbook together, cook together and have fun just hanging out together. I never dreamed that when I had a little girl she would be so beautiful, smart and kind. I am so proud of who you are and what you have accomplished.
Remember my little "smore" that I love you more.

Here is the page that I submitted. The journaling is inside of the arrow.
