WHAT ARE THESE TWO CRAZY KIDS DOING?

What do you think Mitchell and Vinny are doing here?

Yes, those are snowflakes you see in this photo.  My kids are acting like they have never seen snow before.

This is what it looked like around 9:00 pm on Wednesday evening. We already knew that there was a very good threat of snow and ice and let me tell you folks who don't live in the south, people here, PANIC.  My MS therapy was rescheduled from Thursday to Wednesday, the Grocery Stores run out of milk and bread, and the Principle at the elementary school told me at 10:00am before it had even started to rain, that there was a 99.9% chance that school would be canceled. My neighbors are telling me to get the candles and flashlights out and it is a good thing we have a gas fireplace.  I am thinking to myself, boy, this is going to be one big blizzard.  Now, I have lived through some pretty amazing snow storms in my day. In Salt Lake City, we could get 3 ft and school would not be closed. What I am not used to is the ICE.  I guess that is what happens here in the South, after the snow, we get ice.  So, here is what my yard looked like at 12:45 am.

This is a close up of the snow on our wall.

My cool photo without a flash.

We found out at 6:00 am that school was indeed canceled for Thursday. The next day, Friday, it was delayed for 2 hours. Mitchell could not wait to go out and play in the snow. Notice the foot wrapped up in the plastic bag. Vinny snuck out without getting her photo taken and Patrick was inside where it was warm.

Here is Mitchell and Jessie (next door neighbor) attempting to make a snow man.

Every kid in the neighborhood was out sledding, making snowmen, and simply having a great time in the 4" of snow that we received. Patrick and I were content to stay inside where it was warm. Charlie did try to take of photo of the beautiful ice garland on our trees. This photo does not do it justice, the ice actually made garland that went from one branch to another. It was quite amazing.

Here is a nice photo from our front porch.

Thankfully, it was all gone by Friday afternoon.  It has been quite cold since Wednesday with highs only getting into the 30's. It feels like Utah weather. Fortunately, it is going to get back into the 5o's by Thursday the 24th.  Have a great day!
