Fall in Utah was one of my favorite seasons. I truly thought it could not get any better. Well, I was wrong. In Utah, the prettiest part of the season was high on the mountain and you had to drive through the canyon's to see it. Plus, it did not last very long.
Here in South Carolina, the colors are everywhere. Patrick noticed it first and said, "I feel completely surrounded by the colors of fall". Mitchell said, "The colors just keep getting prettier and prettier." Vinny said, "The sides of the roads look like a collage of colors." Here are a few views in our neighborhood; I took these photos on 11/14.
Across the street to the west.
Across the street to the east.
Directly across the street.
A tree in our front yard.
Directly east.
A tree at the entrance of our sub-division.
AND my favorite part of fall in the south...
I took this photo at 12:43 this afternoon. This thermometer is located on our back porch. The device faces due North so it does receive a little morning sun, not much, just a little. This is how warm it was today! Now, tomorrow it is only going to get up to 67 and the low on Thursday night will get down around 34 which means we must turn on the pool. We did not close the pool since it is salt water and salt water does not freeze until it reaches around 20 degrees. We turn on the pool just in case when the weather threatens to get close to freezing. This has happened a few times in the last couple of weeks, only at night, the days are always in the 50-80's. I was asking my friend the other day when she puts their summer clothes away and brings out the winter things and she looked at me like I was crazy. She said, "what do you mean? I have put the swim suits in a separate drawer and put the beach towels at the back of the linen closet; is that what you mean?". I just nodded and said yes, that is what I mean.
Gotta love the south!
