Vinny joined the Roebuck Elementary School Running club a couple of weeks ago. Charlie and I were a little shocked that she wanted to join this club, she has never shared with us that she likes to run. So, on Tuesday they had their first fun run. At this fun run, students from 5 different schools participated in the long jump, 100 yard dash, and 400 meter run. The students are put into groups by grade and then each group goes to one event. They do not keep track of who wins, which is great! Vinny did awesome in the 400 meter and the 100 yard dash. She was quite the trooper in the 100 yard dash; about half way through the race, her shoe flew off her foot, she kept running, picked it up, and finished the race. She barely slowed down when she picked up her shoe. Her group was unable to participate in the long jump due to an injury in the first group. By the time they were able to move the injured girl, it was too late to continue. Here are some fun photos of the event.

This is just before her shoe flew off her foot. She ended up coming in 4th, but remember, they don't keep track of who wins. As a mother, I cannot help but keep track!
