Welcome to my new blog, "Rooms with a View". Stop by to see what is happening with our new home, what is up with the kids and Grandkids, my latest organizing finds, or just what happens to be on my mind. I may occasionally post a scrapbooking page. So, here goes...
THE MOVE
We moved from Salt Lake City to Roebuck, SC on June 21st. Charlie went out first a couple of weeks before us. The kids and I drove through Mount Rushmore, saw the arch in St. Louis, and skated in Cheyenne, South Dakota, and Missouri. We had a great time and it was fun to see America. The first thing the kids did when we arrived at our new house was jump into the pool.
THE HOUSE
I knew I would have some work to do on the house when we bought it. Every room is either covered in ugly wallpaper or painted a baby poop color. The living room is baby poop yellow, the rec room is baby poop brown, and the kitchen has black wallpaper with camels and elephants. Mitchell's room was first since he kept his room the cleanest in Salt Lake City. He wanted a Bob Marley room. I painted the walls yellow and added green, yellow and red stripes. Then I painted a large black peace sign on one wall. He loves it. Next was Vinny's room. She decided on purple walls with polka dots. I used a scrapbooking stencil and painted different size polka dots consisting of little dots in teal, pink and darker purple. She too loves it. Patrick wanted to have his lower walls brown and the upper walls orange tye dyed to match his comforter. I used a wallpaper brush and was able to work my magic on the orange walls. Being a teenager, he has not voiced his pleasure but I know he likes it. I will try to post photos.
Thanks for reading.
