Bring it on!

"Ok, since my rebuttal to my first nasty comment, I have received two more comments.  One was not truly nasty, just wrong, IN MY OPINION.  Here is what Anonymous wrote...

"When you choose to make your blog public, you have no other choice but to take the good with the bad -that's how it works. And not just you, but EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion in an open forum. What the blogger said may not have been what you WANTED to hear, but it was just his or her opinion, and they are entitled"

Yes, I agree that making my blog public I have no choice but to take the good with the bad.  And yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion.  The problem I have with the first nasty comment, was it wasn't stated as her opinion.  She accused me of making my children do this to their hair and she called my boys hair disgusting.  To me, she was being judgmental, not stating her opinion.  If she wanted to share her opinion, she should have stated like, in my opinion, your boys' hair is too long.  That is an opinion!

So, now on to the latest comment.  At least this person had the guts to include her name.

"I gotta agree, it is pretty bad. Leaves an impression of really poor hygiene."

Now, tell me that by growing your hair long, means leaves an impression of poor hygiene.  Does that mean that my daughter's hair which is down toward the middle of her back also leaves an impression of poor hygiene?  Does it matter that my boys wash their hair every day and brush it every day?  Why is it that people feel it is "disgusting" and "pretty bad" for a young man to grow his hair out long but if a young girl has very short hair, that is ok?  Do you think anyone would leave nasty comments if my daughter decided to cut off all of her hair?  I sincerely doubt it.  In my opinion, this is a double standard.
